The good:

The Quest Super Cruiser is a legit good longboard that happens to be sold at a can’t be beat price. We’re huge fans of the Super Cruiser and you’ll find it pop up in posts all over our site. It really stands up to the more expensive competition.

We love the Genuine ABEC 7 speed bearings that come standard, the deck is a sturdy 7 Ply Super Flex Bamboo and Hardwood Maple composite featuring 7-inch aluminum trucks. If you’re just looking to get into longboarding, this is a super affordable place to start. We’ve written a similar post highlighting the best longboard for beginners that also features the Super Cruiser.

The bad:

Some folks got picky and weren’t happy with the graphic quality on the deck. It’s really not that big of a deal since your board will quickly get some wear and tear especially if you’re starting out. All in all the Super Cruiser is an awesome board you can pick up for under a hundred bucks.

Overall:

Quest is a very solid name brand that makes affordable longboards. Quest longboards are a brand that features a lot of great boards for great prices. If you have the budget you’ll want to look at Sector 9 or Landyacthz, but if you’re just starting out the super cruiser is great.

With a 37inch wheel base, the board provides a decent amount of stability along with ABEC 9 longboard bearings you’ll be sure to be speeding around with ease. The bad:

Not a whole lot to be honest, the wheel base could be wider and while the board is produced form a less well-known brand, the quality and durability of the board is uncertain. Definitely a great choice if you’re just looking for a good and cheap longboard.

Overall:

A pure maple wood deck and length of 40 inches makes this board a great board for cruising and tackling the odd downhill slope. Don’t let the price fool you, this board is built to last with its 8ply pressed maple deck, aluminum longboard trucks and durable 78A polyurethane wheels with ABEC 9 bearings. The grip tape featured on the board is decent, but it’s not great. But on the other hand, you are paying under $75 for this board and for everything else that you’re getting, it’s still well worth the money. The other issue addressed here are the wheels of the board. Featured on this build are super high rebound urethane wheels, which will provide s super comfortable ride, but bear in mind these are not designed for sliding whatsoever.

The good:

Price, price and price! This as cheap as it gets and if that’s what you’re after, then it’s the perfect choice for you! These boards can come in a bunch of different colours and combos, they’re small and can be easily carried around and due to their complete plastic build, you can rely on them being able to deal with a bit of tough love and dealing with the outside elements.

The bad:

While great, the moment you’re buying the cheapest board possible its wise to assume you’re going to be missing out on a top tier/quality ride. The short length and basic build can make it tricky learning to first skate the board, and because of its high profile and narrow structure this board isn’t designed for any downhill longboarding of any kind. While great for cruising nice and slowly on flat ground, that’s about where the uses of this board ends.

Overall:

We’ve gone on record saying how much we love Penny and Nickel boards. While it might not be a longboard it can be still be used to cruise around and get used to the feeling of skating. It’s still pretty simple and basic so don’t expect anything amazing from these boards. However, if you’re after a cheap and easy alternative to help pick up skating these boards could definitely help with that.
